Terms of service

By using Build A Golfer, operated by Build A Golfer, you agree to these terms. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian should be comfortable with you using the site. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

Build A Golfer is a free-to-play, fan-made golf simulation game. Every player rating, event, and simulated result inside it is editorial opinion or fictional content, not an official statistic or prediction. We may change, add to, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.

There is no sign-up and no account. Anything the game remembers about your play — history, personal bests, streak, badges, settings, and any display name you choose — is stored on your own device and is yours to export, move, or delete at any time from Profile. Don't use a display name that impersonates a real person, including a professional golfer, or that is offensive or infringing; we may not be able to do anything about a name stored only on your own device, but we ask anyway.

Shared builds work because the simulation is deterministic — the same picks and seed always produce the same season, on any device. Don't try to construct or distribute share links that misrepresent a season that wasn't actually produced by the simulation, and don't use automated tools to scrape, overload, or interfere with the service.

Anything you generate — a display name, a share card image, a copied results text — is yours. By sharing it (posting a link, an image, or text you've generated), you grant us a licence to display that content back to anyone who opens the corresponding shared page. Don't generate or share content that's unlawful, infringing, or impersonates someone without basis to. If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright, contact us at hello@buildagolfer.app with a description of the material and its location and we will act on it.

Our code, design, ratings, and simulated content are our own work. Real players' names, countries, and tours are referenced only as factual identification; the tours' and organisations' own names and marks belong to their respective owners.

Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the PGA TOUR, LIV Golf, Augusta National Golf Club, the USGA, The R&A, the PGA of America, or any player. Player names and statistics are used for identification and commentary only. Ratings are editorial. Tournament names are used to identify real events on the professional calendar; every result inside the game is simulated, not an official statistic or prediction. Player photographs are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only.

Build A Golfer is supported by a single ad rail served by third-party partners. Their own terms and privacy practices apply to the ads they serve; see Cookies for how those scripts are gated by consent.

The service is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. Simulated results are not real statistics, predictions, or endorsements. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Build A Golfer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the service; our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past twelve months (which, since the service is free, is zero) or fifty US dollars, whichever is greater. Nothing here limits any statutory right you have that cannot lawfully be excluded.

We may suspend or restrict access to the service for anyone who abuses it — for example, by scraping it, attacking it, or violating section 4. Because there's no account, this generally means blocking access rather than terminating a profile.

These terms are governed by the laws of [Your jurisdiction], and any dispute will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you hold under the law of your own country of residence.
